My view of what an EBook should be has changed dramatically from what it was even a few months ago. I have observed that most eBook layouts ignore the fact that they are going to be seen on a computer. Maybe most designers of eBook layouts assume that every one has a 28-inch monitor and can adjust their view to see the entire page. Or they assume that every eBook is going to be printed out. In this age of going green, may won't.
I'm old enough to remember the feel of a book in my hands but young enough to enjoy reading on my computer. What I don't like is having to scroll through a document or eBook partway down the page. It's a great way to aggravate tunnel carpel. While I always respect the layout request of my clients, if I can create an eBook that is both easy to print and easy to view on the computer screen, I'm going to do so.
I also encourage my clients to build out their basic eBook with additional features that print can't offer. I recommend embedding hyperlinks and video clips. In many cases, I start out writing the basic eBook with simple hyperlinking elements. As my client gets the videos made, I can update the eBook.
I will provide a Kindle-ready version of any eBook I collaborate on for an additional $40.00 formatting fee. Or you can request Kindle formatting from the beginning. Your eBook will be sized at 6 x 9 (which is great for computer viewing).

Newsletters
Do you see your newsletter as a marketing tool? You should. Newsletters are the opportunity to share more than news about your company.
